WEEK 4
The
internet can be a powerful ally when you are trying to figure out how
to solve a problem. For example, the following site gives an explanation
of how to solve a system of equations: .wtamu.edu/academic/anns/mps/math/mathlab/int_algebra/int_alg_tut19_systwo.htm”>West Texas A & M Virtual Math Lab

Pick any topic
that we’ve studied so far this semester and find an internet site (not
already chosen by a classmate) that you feel explains it particularly
well.

Begin by clicking Start a New Conversation,
and make the name of the website (WTAMU Virtual Lab) your subject. Then
give us the complete URL of the website and a website review of at
least 250 words. Include what you really like about the site such as interactivity, games, or really clear explanations.

You
must also give a substantive response of at least 50 words to two
classmate’s posts (worth 2 points each). You may ask questions to elicit
a more in-depth explanation, add additional information to your own
posting in response to questions, share additional knowledge on another
posting or share an example from your own life related to the topic.
Simply saying “Good post!” will not earn any points.

P.S. Don’t forget to prowl around YouTube and TeacherTube—there are lots of math videos on both of them!WEEK 5
Click onStart a New Conversation usingyour name as the Subject.

Now that we have passed the half-way mark of the class, tell us in at least 250 wordswhat you think about learning math online?

Name at least one thing that you really enjoy about the class (come
on, there must be something!) and at least one improvement that could
make this class even better. Feel free to editorialize!

Also, this is a good time to make a “keep-quit-start” resolution.

What are you doing to help yourself learn in this class that you are going to keep doing because it’s working?
What are you doing that is hindering you from learning in this class that you are going to quit doing?
What do you think will help you improve your learning in this class that you are going to start doing?

Then, respond to 2 of your classmates in substantive postings of at least 50 words.

Your original post is worth 6 points and your responses are worth 2 points each for a total of 10 points.
