Final Paper Progress
Our second discussion for the week is designed to provide
you an opportunity to craft, refine, and finalize the thesis statement for your
Week 5 paper. During the last few weeks, you’ve identified a topic,
methodology, and research question for this paper, have composed an annotated
bibliography detailing some of the sources you’ll use to write it, and have had
time to examine some of the ways in which you might apply the principles of
“active citizenship” to your chosen social concern. With regards to
the final paper, your #1 goal during Week 4 is to come up with a
working thesis statement: a one-sentence version of your argument
that clearly, directly, and boldly answers the question your research is
designed to address. For more on how to craft these kinds of statements, please
see both my “Tips on Writing Essays” and “How to Compose a
Thesis Statement” announcements. Please also review the.waypointoutcomes.com/assessment/1815/preview”>Grading Rubric I’ll be using to evaluate your paper. And once you’ve got some ideas about
your thesis statement, please proceed to the Discussion Board and address the
five following questions:
1. What is the question you’ve hoped to answer
in your research? (List your research question)
Why do the psychological impacts of
human trafficking vary from one victim to another?
2. What’s the methodology you’ve decided to
employ here?
3. What are the sources you’ve consulted –
both academic and non-academic?
4. At this point in your research, what’s your
answer to your research question? (State your thesis)
5. With respect to your chosen social concern,
what do you think the next 5-10 years will bring, and how might the principles
of “active citizenship” impact this?
