Data Commentary
Writing Assignment Instructions: Using the techniques discussed in class, write a commentary of at least 200 words on a table, chart, graph, or other data set of your choice. The data set you plan to comment on should be from a reputable source (academic or government)
Your commentary should be no more than a page long and should include the following elements: location elements and summary statements; discussions of patterns noticed in the data, including noteworthy exceptions; discussion of implications of the data; and recommendations. A reference of the source of the data must be in APA format, located on a separate page following the commentary.
The paper submitted should demonstrate clear development and flow of ideas as well as your very best English grammar and vocabulary.
Formatting: All papers submitted for this class should:
- use 12-point font,
- be double spaced (2.0 spacing),
- be aligned to the left
- have a reference list on the paper’s last page with a visual of the chart you are explaining
