1:Maritime Business

Mega Marble Hellas previously manufactured reproduction classical marble statues in a quiet village north of Athens, Greece. However in August 2012 they relocated their factory to Kuching, Malaysia. The majority of their customers remain in Greece selling the statues to tourist. However they have a new customer Kasner GmbH, surprisingly located in Hamburg, Germany. Nikos Maniatakis, Mega sales manager, has heard that Kasner GmbH are a disreputable customer with a poor payment record and is wary of trading with them. Business is however very bad at the moment and he does need the order. Nikos knows you are studying Maritime business and asks if you can advise him. What would be your advise to Nikos? For my part of this presentation i have the follows: 1) Select an appropriate shipment route 2)Transport method. 3) A general conclusion.

2: An anthropology of global connection(2004)

a) Describe the author?s argument and purpose in writing the book. What is the question the author seeks to answer? What is the debate that the author is engaging, and what is his/her author point of view?
b) Assess the quality of the argument with regard to logic and evidence. Does the author?s reasoning make sense? What evidence is offered to support it, and is it sufficient? What assumptions underlie the author?s argument, and are they justified?
c) Discuss how the book relates to the themes of the course and enhances your understanding of commonalities and differences across regions of the world.
