He shows defiance and a rebellious spirit. He hopes this spirit will reach everyone at the hospital. 4. How did your character react in the book? Consider both actions and words. He did it out of anger and pent up frustration. He completely ruins his chances of escaping but it was for the spirit of the others. 5. I think McMurphy shouldn’t have broken the glass because that was destruction of property and he could have just slammed his fists on the counter instead of breaking something. 6. He believes that he does not belong here and that he has done nothing that proves him to be at the hospital. 7. What is unique about your character that you will want to replicate in terms of style or voice? His carefree attitude towards the workers and life in general. He freely speaks his mind and doesn’t let others sway his opinions or words. 8. Does your character have a specific agenda or goal? How will you express this? His goal is to eventually get out and prove his sanity. But after meeting Nurse Ratched, his short-term goal would be to get under her skin and take her out of power.
