Each student will complete one critique and discussions based on a systematic review of the research or evidence, or a meta-analysis, article. The critique will be evaluated (see criteria below) and each assignment represents 10% of the final course grade.

2:Precis #2
Order Description
Read: Process explanation; sequential method of development; visuals; presentations
Length: Write one precis statement for each of the four topics above and combine into one document with four paragraphs.
Format: Single-spaced, one-inch margins.

Order Description
Critically analyse how external factors influence how an organisation approaches occupational health and safety and how a failing organisation can be turned around using all appropriate mechanisms of state interventions.
Guidelines:
1. Identify the external factors that impact on an organisation (what are the impacts it has on the organisations that are subject to its’ requirement?)
2. Review how policy may influence intervention (UK policies)
3. Clearly evaluate breaches of legislations and mitigations (what’s their ‘influence as an external factor?)
4. Identify potential legal implications of failure including enforcement (what are the functions of enforcers and the implications?)
5. Analyse how safety culture might respond to these factors
