Post has contains two assignments
1:Holy war Crusade and Jihad discussion post
There has been a lot of ink spilled on the notion of ?crusade? and ?jihad? – if the are the same, different, compatible, incompatible, etc. Check out these two articles/blog posts on the subject, both written by medieval historians – and have a bit of debate on the subject. Holy war is not a new concept – no one religion has a monopoly on it. But how is the rhetoric to justify such behavior maintained? Is there a black or white here? Is war on religious grounds ever justified? How about war on other grounds (political, economic, etc.) that is merely clothed in the garments of religious rhetoric? https://elearn.memphis.edu/content/enforced/20138 0/6790019-20171018628/crusade%20article.pdf?_&d2lSessionVal=CCjetdKoAPmv9FPaDlz0RCeya http://modernmedieval.blogspot.com/2007/06/problematic-crusades.html Copy and paste links in search bar
