Post has three assignments
1:Media Campaign
Rationale for Module
The service sector, like all commercial outlets, must understand how the media industry works. If they wish to gain media coverage for their events and organisations, events practitioners must learn know how to create a profile that is newsworthy, by generating real stories that appeal to the press. They must learn how to prepare and present those stories to a press that is increasingly busy and hungry for substance rather than spin.
Media awareness
Briefing
Students will choose a leisure-oriented forthcoming event of their choice and prepare a media campaign. They will identify where to place their press releases and where to aim their article ideas.
What is being assessed:
Ability to distinguish between pr and journalism; to be able to identify the goals of a media campaign; to distinguish between treatment options and choose the most appropriate way to present the information; to make writing suit the media selected and to present a piece of finished, publishable work
Essential activities to be included:
• Research and analysis of subject
• Planning, research and delivery
• Research of relevant media outlets to be targeted
• Evidence of understanding of different demands of different media outlets and platforms
Submit 1 article, written up, ready for publication and 1 press release for the event.
• The article should be written for appropriate media as relevant for the event, for instance a sports magazine or website if the article is about the Olympics or other sporting events. It should be around 500 words.
• The press release should be at least 250 words in length, and promote the event in a professional manner with contact details, a headline, and at least one quote (which can be sourced from the event’s promotion material or obtained by yourself).
Part 2
Additional to Part 1 above, you are also required to submit one of the options below:
• Option 1–an article idea, or ‘pitch/synopsis’ offering and article idea for publication. This should outline the event. the ‘angle’ of the article, the publication or website it is aimed at and any proposed interviews it would include. The aim is to engage and editor’s interest in the event. Aim for around 150 words.
OR
• Option 2 – 1 broadcast treatment for web platforms, ie Yahoo webpage, for viral circulation and general promotion. This should be a concise explanation of what the short film will feature – its length, who will feature in it, where it will be filmed and how it will promote your chosen event. Aim for around 400 – 500 words.
2 :Space Physiology
1- Compare between space and Earth. Speak about the effect of gravity on the human being in space. How it affects the muscles, and what are the changes in the body (physiology), and explain in details the changes in cardio, respiratory system, and immune system. Speak about the space line and the pressure. Also, compare the gas pressure. (Add charts).
2- Speak about the experiments that were done on animals before thinking of going to the space. Speak about the animals in space, or animals that were sent to space for experiments on them before sending humans to space. What were the animals that were sent? (Add charts).
3-How and when did scientist think of going to space? Show the procedure. How did the first astronaut adapt in space? Give a small resume of the first astronaut, and how the spaceship resists pressure, and what was the spaceship made of? What are the records? Speak about Felex jump and project. What are the health changes that have occurred? (Add charts).
4- What are the scientists thinking about now? What are the previous theories? Are there any changes? Explain the physiology of space. What were the experiments results, and the developed things that were done, and speck about the previous and the future plan. Compare the gas pressure now and before, and compare the experiments before and now as well. (Add charts)
Support and show your research paper what references, journals, citing, and databases are. Of course, last page should include the references that were used.
3:Manufacturing Industry Evaluation
In order to make it in the big scheme of things companies need to compare their products and prices to that of their competitors in order to make necessary adjustments or arrangements that will help to create equilibrium with companies operating at their pace. Equilibrium happens when the supply and the demand levels are at the same. If equilibrium is there, prices do not usually change. Adjustments are only needed when in the long-run economic profits are eliminated. In this case, the company needs to find ways to efficiently utilize their resources in order to decrease production costs, so they can remain profitable.
A perfect competitive company is associated with efficiency for both the consumers and the business itself because they are able to offer their products at reasonable price or prices while still making a profit for themselves. This type of company (perfectly competitive) would be considered operating at maximum efficiency, since they are likely maximizing the uses of their resources they have in order to maximize profits.
