Russian intervention in Syria.
The post has two assignments
1: Russian intervention in Syria.
Order Description
Write article about analyzing Russian intervention in Syria. The question of whether the mission was accomplished (or what the mission even was) is a good start.Discuss how Russia’s intervention to achieve its goals also resulted in numerous human rights violations. Since Russia plants to continue air strikes in Syria after their troop withdrawal, this will be an important part of the discussion.

2:”Ways of Seeing” By John Berger
Order Description
In this thread answer the following questions:
1. Berger claims that, “the relation between what we see and what we know is never settled. Each evening we see the sun setting and we know the earth is turning away from it. Yet the knowledge, the explanation, never quite fits the sight. ” What does he mean by this? Find an image that supports this theory. Include the image with your response.
2. Discuss the similarities between Ways of Seeing and Looking at War.
3. Do you agree with Berger’s thoughts on how reproduction of images affects the meanings of paintings? Why or why not?
4. Remember how Berger shows a Van Gogh painting and then shows that same picture with the caption: This is the last picture Van Gogh painted before he killed himself? Pick an image. Create a meme from that image. What you write over the image should change the impact on the viewer. Add to the doc the image without the text first and analyze its meaning. Then post the meme (the image with the text) and analyze its new meaning
