Order Description
The case study is on The Body Shop, I will include the following in the additional files:
1. The Body Shop case study
2. Assignment brief – questions
3. Assignment brief – marking scheme
4. A case study initial analysis for you to look at!, which was used in the seminars.
Task 1 of the case study is for: – analysis.
The Body Shop case study – this should be your sole source for the analysis in Question 1.
Task 2: – Give recommendations
These may be drawn from theory and wider reading / research. (Use the provided sources and requested books please.)

In the report assignment there are two questions relating to the case study;
• The first is about your analysis of the case study using the analysis models.
• The second will be a recommendation for an area of the case study drawn from earlier analysis. Use theory as your basis for decisions – not just general knowledge.
Analysis question:
o The question usually asks for you to identify/discuss the issues in the case itself
o The best answers here use the analysis models – not writing about how they are used – by applying them to the case study
Suggested models and theories:
o External environmental analysis (PEST/PRESTCOM or similar)
o Internal analysis (SWOT, stakeholders)
o Consider aspects such as Porter’s 5-forces, Value Chain analysis, portfolio analysis, segmentation and others
Recommendations/Advice question:
o This asks you to produce recommendations, based on theory, with examples if relevant
o Finish with a key recommendation and advice on implementing this
Assignment Brief: produce a report which considers the following two tasks:
1. Analyse the current market position of The Body Shop using a range of strategic marketing analysis models.
2. As a new graduate recruit for venture capital firm Ardian present your recommendations for the future strategic direction of The Body Shop to Olivier Decannière, Head of Ardian UK, who are looking to purchase The Body Shop.
