chapter 6 in your textbook, pgs 217-225 The TEXTBOOK ( Successful Writing at Work: Concise Edition 4th Edition, Kindle Edition )
For this assignment, you are going to interpret data and present it effectively in a one-page document by using the principles of design discussed in Lesson 3.
Details
The Pew Research Center is “is a nonpartisan fact tank that informs the public about the issues, attitudes and trends shaping the world”
(http://www.pewresearch.org/about/). You are to take a study on attitudes about higher education and interpret the data the Center reports, and present it in a one
page document appropriate for a university audience. University audience may mean students, faculty, staff, or a combination thereof – you decide.
There is a lot of data in this study. Therefore, you must select what points would be of most interest to a university audience, and report on those facts. You also
must make the document eye-catching and easy to read, using the three principles of design as detailed in the textbook (typography, layout, and visuals).
The study can be found here:
Most Americans say higher ed is heading in wrong direction, but partisans disagree on why
Format
You may choose to present the data in more of a document format, or go a more visual route with an infographic. Whichever you choose, make it clean, easily scanned,
and effective.
If you choose to create an infographic, I recommend one of the following infographic creators:

https://www.canva.com/
If you have your own that you use, by all means, use that. However, creating an infographic from scratch is difficult, and using a creator makes things much easier.
Grading
You will be graded on:
Interpretation of facts (did you choose the ones most relevant to the audience?)
Format
Ease of use/view
Grammar, spelling, punctuation, and other conventions of standard written English
Also, make sure you cite the study at the end! A copy of the link is sufficient; we don’t need to worry about MLA/APA/whatever format. However, if you do not cite, you
automatically lose 3 points.
