Describe the impact of various forms of competition on business operations with emphasis on perfect competition.
Use technology and information resources to research issues in principles of economics.
3:Nevada constitution
Like many states, Nevada elects its judges (whereas federal court judges are appointed). What are the advantages and disadvantages of electing judges? Would you like to see Nevada use appointments instead of elections to select its judges? In 2010 Nevada voters failed to support a ballot initiative that would have amended the Constitution to create a process whereby judges are appointed by the Governor from a list vetted by outside assessors. Judges would then stand for retention elections. See: http://nvsos.gov/sos/elections/initiatives-referenda/petition-archive/2010-petitions. Once the web page opens, click on "Ballot Question No. 1" toward the top of the page to read the arguments for and against it. Is this a reasonable compromise?
