post has two assignments

1: CORPORATIONS PROJECT

1. The assignment is to create your own company – it needs to be a business that is legal and clean. As you fill out the forms, use the same concept (e.g., a salon business, a grass-cutting service) for your Articles of Incorporation, your Articles of Organization (for an LLC) and your partnership entity. You may use celebrities for your board of directors, incorporators, officers, members (LLC), managers (LLC), partners, registered agents, etc. Have a little fun with it and be creative. Read the instructions below each blank line on the forms carefully as you are completing the forms.
2. Go to the Louisiana Secretary of State’s website (www.sos.la.gov); click on BUSINESS SERVICES, then click on “File Business Documents.” Click on link (to the left) “Get Forms and Fee Schedule.”
Download and print the following forms:
1. Articles of Incorporation (#399)
2&3. Articles of Organization (#365) [when you print #365, you will also automatically receive form #973: Limited Liability Company Initial Report] – fill out both forms
4. Louisiana Partnership Registration Form (#342)
5. Limited Liability Partnership – Registration (#975)
You may also turn in for extra credit form (#326) “Application of Foreign Corporation for Certificate of Authority.”

3. Also posted on Moodle is a sample set of forms – do NOT print or fill out these forms – they are marked-up by me to assist you in avoiding some common mistakes. Fill out and turn in clean forms that you print from the SOS’s website.
4. Do NOT turn in any of the “Instructions” sheets that will print with each form – throw them away – or better yet, recycle the paper.
5. “Transmittal Information” form will automatically print with each of the forms. Include ONLY ONE form with your actual name on it as the top sheet. If you turn in more than one “Transmittal Information” form, you will lose points.
6. Each form is worth 4 points for a total of 20 points toward your final grade for the class. You may, if you choose, turn in the 6th form for extra credit (also 4 points).
7. Entire project should consist of 5 forms listed above (or 6 if you choose to do the extra credit) and ONE Transmittal Information form with your name on it. That’s it.
8. Project is due last class.

MONEY & BANKING: The Research Report
Research Study Assignment

In teams of 2-3 students, YOU will conduct a semester-long research study including both primary and secondary research culminating in a PowerPoint Presentation (7-10 slides) to the class and a final written research report (10-15 pages). The Professor is available during office hours for assistance throughout the process of completing this research report/project.

STEP I: Research/Project Proposal

The first submission is the proposal detailed below. It requires that teams thoroughly review and discuss their topics and conduct preliminary secondary research.

1. Topic: What is the General Area that is the focus of your research?
2. Title: Preliminary Title that Summarizes your proposed research study.
3. Significance: Why is your topic worthy of investigation?
4. Research Question(s): Key Research Objectives or Hypotheses to be Examined
5. Research Literature: What do other researchers report on this topic?
6. Information/Data: Where are you obtaining the information for your report?
7. Data Collection: Are you collecting any primary data such as interviews?
8. Interpretation: How you will analyze your information.
9. Presentation of Results: Will you prepare Graphs, Charts, or Tables?
10. Bibliography: Include the formal list of references and sources for the report.

STEP II: Research/Project Report

After the approval of your Research Proposal, you may begin based on delegating responsibility for the specific sections of the project to individual group members. The final written report should conform to the following format:

1. Title Page: Title of course, title of the report, names of authors, date of submission.

2. Abstract: A very short summary of the report (one-half page). It should include the issue that was investigated, the research questions, the main findings, whether the results were expected or unexpected, and the conclusion.

3. Table of Contents: List the sections of the report and their respective page numbers.

4. Introduction: An introduction to the topic. This should include its Importance to the field of Money & Banking in general as well as an explanation of the Research Objectives, Significance, and Timeliness. There should also be a brief overview of the organization of the report (briefly explain the importance of each section and summary key issues) as presented in the forthcoming sections (1-2 pages).

5. Literature Review: This is where you establish your enquiry in its wider context and explain how your research builds on what is already known about the topic. Be sure to show how your review of articles by other researchers has influenced your investigation and interpretation of the results. (2-3 pages).

6. Research Methodology: An explanation of the procedures that shaped your investigation as well as a description of the procedures used to select and analyze the information. For example, the types of industry or government sources as well as business-oriented journalistic and academic articles. Did you conduct interviews? This section should include an evaluation of the strengths and weaknesses of your approach and the implications for the reliability and validity of any data you collected. (1-2 pages).

7. Findings/Results: This is where you identify your key research findings in the context of your previously identified research questions and how they relate to what is already known. This requires referencing the sources of previous research as listed in your literature review (2-3 pages).

8. Analysis: This is where you explain the meaning of your research findings. For example, how are changes in Islamic Finance and the growth of the consumer economy affecting household debt in KSA? What is the significance of electronic payment systems to online retailing? How do you forecast future trends based on the interpretation of your findings (4-6 pages).

9. Conclusions: This is a summary YOUR interpretation of your major findings? Do you believe your results? Could they be influenced by the specific time period or even the sources of your information? Remember, your conclusions must be objectively based on the information that you have collected. Your opinion is not acceptable. Highlight any areas where further research could be beneficial (1-2 pages).

10. Bibliography: Make sure that you list ALL of the sources that you reviewed and referenced in the final report. They should be listed in the appropriate format (2-3 pages).

STEP III: Presentation of Research/Project Key Findings

Each team will summarize its research report and key findings to the class in a PowerPoint presentation. Group presentations should be a maximum of 10 minutes and include 10-12 PowerPoint slides. Feedback from class discussion can be incorporated into final revision of the Research Report.
