post contains three assignments
1:Describe a global health problem (Persistent pain can delay recovery) that can be explored through research, discuss how this health problem is applicable in both the United States and a non-USA country, and critique four original research studies on this topic.
Abstract: The abstract should open with a sentence that will serve as an introduction to and purpose of the paper. Then describe what is in each section of the paper. An abstract is usually a brief but comprehensive synopsis of the contents of the paper that typically does not exceed 250 words. At the end of the abstract place the phrase Key Words, and denote 3-4 key words that would describe your paper.
Narrative text:
Introduction: Start paper with a short paragraph that introduces the clinical practice topic area of interest (pain management) in your paper. (Approximately ½ page). Then use the following as the headings for your paper: Part A; Part B; and Part C.
Part A: Part A will clearly define the global health problem (uncontrolled pain management leading to delayed recoveries), and discuss why it is important for nursing. Discuss how this problem is viewed in the United States and how it is viewed in a non-USA country. For example, if the focus is adult pain management, discuss guidelines for defining pain management in the US and in a non-USA country. (Approximately 1 page).
Part B: Part B will include an Appraisal Synopsis for each of the original research reports that you have selected on your topic. Discuss what is known about the health problem in the United States and in at least one other non-USA country. For example, if the focus is pain management, you may choose four original research reports done by nurse researchers that look into interventions to improve pain management.
• Then use the subheading: Study #1: Nursing research Study in the USA. Type the study name, author(s), year of publication, journal and pages, using APA format (same format as will be used on your reference page). Provide an appraisal synopsis of the article by answering the questions in Components of Appraisal Synopsis. (Approximately 1½ pages)
• Next use the subheading: Study #2: Nursing Research Study Non-USA. Follow the same instructions as for Subheading Study #1. (Approximately 1½ pages)
• Next use the subheading Study #3: etc. (This can be a nursing research study from USA or non-USA). Follow the same instructions as for Subheading Study #1. (Approximately 1½ pages)
• Next use the subheading Study #4: etc. (This can be a nursing research study from USA or non-USA). Follow the same instructions as for Subheading Study #1. (Approximately 1½ pages)
Part C: Part C is a conclusion to your paper. It should summarize the key points. (Approximately ½ page).
Components of Appraisal Synopsis:
• What was the purpose of the study (research questions, purposes, and hypotheses)?
• How was the sample obtained?
• What inclusion or exclusion criteria were used?
• Who from the sample actually participated or contributed data?
• What methods were used to collect data (e.g. sequence of events, timing, types of data, and measures)?
• Was an intervention /treatment/clinical protocol tested? Explain.
• What were the main findings of this study?
• Was this a credible study?
