Part A
How can you explain the null is rejected or not rejected without placing the null in your work? This will be problematic when you get to the non-parametric tests.
You did not answer or show the post hoc test for the class size by gender. She asked if the females needed bigger or smaller class sizes for the assignments. You need to show the females reaction to class size and the male reaction to class size. You re-ran the larger statistical tests, but you did not rerun the pot hoc for the individual ANOVAs. You don’t seem to be reading the internal feedback. If you are, you are not using it.
I see no report here for the post hoc test. You should show relationships of the class size for male and significant relationships for class size for female. I added a picture of the post hoc that you should have used to determine the female and male differences. The general differences without the gender was explained. You did not discover the answer to the question asked when this was not conducted upon finding statistically significant ANCOVA and ANOVAs.
Exact statistics for p value and the effect size of the significant differences (plural) are not given. Exact number ????= are needed. Just showing significance at the .05 range is not how an APA write up is given. See page 139 of the APA 6th ed. Publication Manual for why this is so.
Part B Is STILL missing a lot of information. You should have followed the outline of the study A-E in part A or the textbook page 502 to help you make sure that you did not miss anything. You did miss a lot. The following in black ink states what was supposed to be in the information. The information in the red ink explains what was found. The bold red is what was not found or incorrect.
ANCOVA:
Briefly restate your research area of interest.
There is no explanation of the area of interest.
Explain the independent variable, covariate, and the dependent variable. What are the names of the factors or what type numbering system (nominal ordinal, interval, ratio) is each variable? Only happiness was defined as a nominal scale and three factors were present. The other two did not have explanation.
Exploratory Data Analysis.
Perform exploratory data analysis on all variables in the data set.
Create an APA style table that presents descriptive statistics for the sample. There should be means and standard deviation of the whole design. Each independent variable’s factor (cell) should have a mean and standard deviation. This is not present
You should have created and include appropriate graphs to help illustrate the dataset.
There are no graphs present.
Compose a one to two paragraph write up of the exploratory data. Explain the number of individuals, means and standard deviation of each independent variable explained in the table. Not present
Hypothesis and NULL hypothesis should be explained:
HA: Factor 1 influences the dependent variable after controlling for factor 2. Not present.
ANCOVA:
Perform a ANCOVA showing both the independent variable as well as the covariate significantly predicting the dependent variable as per the assignment.
Show the table. The table was present.
Show the APA write up for this test. It should show, “Factor 1 influences the dependent variable when controlling for factor 2, (F (df1, df2) = 11.111, ????= 003). There was a write-up of the table, but the F-value for the test statistic was not correct. Three F-values were reported. It seems as if the wrong test was reported.
There is an interaction between your variables by the meaning of the design. Using a single post hoc tests, describe these differences in APA format to interpret the findings. Must give the exact p-value and confidence interval as APA (p. 139) and this testing requires. No post hoc conducted. There was no report of the findings of a post hoc.
Is there support for the researcher’s hypothesis that Factor 1 influences the dependent variable after controlling for factor 2? Explain your answer. There is a conclusion with an explanation. It is correct. This is interesting since the test was not correct.
