“Thinking Strategically About the Future”
Hypothetical consultancy assignment (envision the future)
- The emphasis of this assessment is to think strategically about the future
- And to enhance the ability to consider the role of the organization within its wider technologic, competitive, and economic environment
The proposal should include a brief description of your topic, why it is an issue/why does it matter, why you’re interested in it, AND how you’ll connect your ideas to topics in the class.
Final Paper Proposal
- Peer reviewed sources are required for your proposal.
- Students must bring at least five questions derived from the readings. E.g. on the Future of Work, Technology, Climate Change, Demographics, Innovations and etc.
- Students need to address the issue through a strategic leadership lens and with their own country or region of origin in mind.
- Understand (Rigor): Use of conceptual frameworks for awareness in the area of strategic leadership as your own style relates to your understanding of ways to address the issue.
- Analyse (In Depth & Critical thinking): Critical evaluation own choices and actions, revealing strengths and weaknesses/areas for development. What are your concerns as a leader on both your own reaction to the issue and others’ reaction to you as a strategic leader?
- Use of systems thinking and theories: How did you apply systems thinking and does the paper include at least one strategic leadership theory applicable to your issue?
- Presentation (delivery and content): Is the issue clearly defined and evident as an issue? Is there a clear beginning, succinct body of the paper and constructive/reasonable/practicable & professional conclusion/suggestions as an end? Does it include leadership strategy in addressing its complexity?
- At a minimum, the paper will be written in proper English and will have a bibliography containing at least five peer-reviewed sources or articles from respected publications such as Financial Times, The Age, Wall Street Journal, The Spectator, etc.
- No more than 5 pages, double-spaced, Times New Roman font, 12 pt. Bibliography separate page.
