David Jackson is a board member and graduate of Leadership Prince George’s Inc. a Non-Profit Leadership Organization that supports community leaders in refining and improving their leadership abilities. As the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Facilitator of the course I have come to know David first as a participant in the leadership development program then as a board member through collaboration on various community projects.
Among other things a significant portion of the leadership development training that David undertook to complete the course there was a considerable focus placed on getting participants to grasp a better understanding of themselves through self-reflection, and challenging the boundaries of personal beliefs in order to encourage growth and more affective leadership. As the course progressed David consistently demonstrated the ability to meet and overcome challenges to his personal beliefs as an individual and as part of a team.
Throughout each of the training modules David had the opportunity to provide and receive feedback to myself as the facilitator, and from other instructors, classmates, and work colleagues. He received feedback from me, other instructors and his classmates with an opened mind. He was engaged, had a teachable attitude and received constructive criticism with a positive attitude.
I have known David to be highly committed to his own development through the taking of the leadership course, as well as seeking to enroll in this current course or other business and training courses. I have also known him to be committed to his own physical development through healthy eating and exercise as he is always willing to share advice and information with anyone interested to know.
As stated previously David is always willing to help others with advice about improving their own health and wellness. He owns and operates a home health agency, and volunteers in various community organizations such as the American Heart Association, the Prince George’s County Healthcare Action Coalition, INOVA Mt Vernon Hospital, and serves on various boards such as Leadership Prince George’s, Prince George’s Chamber of Commerce and Reid Temple Trustees.
