This post has three Assignments:

1. The Madhyamika

Buddhism thought and culture
Compare and contrast the Madhyamika (Middle Way) and Yogâcâra (Mind Only) schools of Mahâyâna philosophy in as much (accurate) detail as possible.

2. Buddhist traditions

Discuss the history and development of the diverse Buddhist traditions of East Asia. What beliefs and schools of practice do these traditions have in common? What unique features distinguish Buddhism in China from Buddhism in Japan?

3. ISIS

Research about ISIS and answer these questions:
What ISIS is (what kind of group it is, when it was created/founded)
What does this group aim to accomplish with its tactics? What is its mission?

4.  Poster Design by PowerPoint:

The students will select a country and create a poster by
PowerPoint to present the country’s public health status assuming the role of that country’s
secretary/minister of health. The requirements such as background color, font, graphic,
charts, reference, etc. are addressed in the grading rubric. The students are expected to
follow the grading rubric closely.
