Extrinsic uniformity test
Instrumentation Project 5
a. Perform an extrinsic uniformity test using a medium or high sensitivity collimator with
each of the following window widths: 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 40%, and
50%. Note the total counts and time for each image. Explain your protocol as perforemd in
your department.
My extrinsic uniformity test:
b. Graph sensitivity (counts/second/mCi) versus window width on linear graph
paper. Submit your graph.
c. Discuss the effects of window width on sensitivity as evident on the graph.
d. Discuss the effects of window width on field uniformity as evident on the images.
e. Is there any situation in which a wide window width would be more appropriate than
a narrow window width? Explain your answer.
f. Is there any situation in which a narrow window width would be more appropriate
than a wide window width? Explain your answer.
g. Include 2 in-text citations and a reference page.
