Explain Ethical Decision Making and Assessment


•	Explain the similarities among Kidder’s Ethical Checkpoints, the SAD Formula, and Nash’s 12 Questions. Based on these commonalties, determine the steps that should be a part of every ethical decision.
•	There is a great deal of scholarly research and literature published on the topic of ethical decision-making. Research and select a scholarly article in your current/anticipated professional field in which you would like to garner further information on in terms of ethical decision-making. Summarize the article, and then reflect and relate it to yourself, determining how you will apply this information as a professional.
•	Identify the steps you will take to enhance your ability in making and following through on ethical choices based on this week’s research.
Support your white paper with at least five scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.

Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts presented in the course by providing new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic. Your response should reflect scholarly writing and current APA standards. 

Types of Leadership Behavior

Why is it that some leaders inspire others to follow, whereas other leaders foster negative emotions and generate apathy? Why are some leaders perceived as being energetic and skilled at guiding their team to focus on the organization’s established vision and mission, whereas other leaders encourage and reward competition and individualism? Some leaders empower individuals to recognize their full potential, whereas other leaders discourage and even deny individuals access to resources and opportunities for professional enhancement. There are many examples of positive and negative leadership in all types of organizations.

Therefore, leaders should also be evaluated based on ethical choices they make. An assessment is characterized by input resulting in measurable data that can be evaluated. From the results, benchmarks can be established. An organization should conduct an ethical assessment to identify strengths and weaknesses, gain consensus and clarification on key issues, identify an ideal state, and develop an action plan for implementation.


Evaluating Ethical Behavior through Case Study Analysis

It is important to not only reflect how we make ethical decisions to better understand our personal approach, but also incorporate a systematic approach that fits our code of ethics and guides us in solving ethical conundrums. Specific actionable steps should be taken and incorporated into our ethical decision-making. Four psychological sub-processes affecting our ethical action include moral sensitivity, moral judgment, moral focus, and moral character. This week, you will research scholarly articles on ethical decision-making.
