Post has three assignments

1:Research-Based Proposal

Order Description

Research-Based Proposal (term project)

Description: Write a proposal in which you offer a plan to solve a problem and use research to support your view that what you propose is the best course of action. Note the difference between a proposal and a research-based proposal is that the former could be based on your personal views only, while the latter requires that you learn about what other people have said about the topic.
Consult 6-8 sources—one of your sources should be the interview your conducted. When selecting and using sources, remember you will have to read the entire article and not just a paragraph or a section you liked.

Voice: Summarize what other people have said about your topic. However, remember that the goal in writing this paper is to find a research framework for your own views. Make sure to include introductory phrases that clearly distinguish your points from those made by somebody else. Avoid dropping quotes; instead, explicitly explain how the quotes or paraphrases included support your points.
Purposes:
? To help you refine your research skills to undertake a research project
? To allow you to analyze ideas and perspectives from sources
? To showcase your ability to locate reliable and relevant research
? To show that you can create and argument and support it with research
Required Sections:
*A cover letter that identifies your topic, purpose, readers, and any special things I need to know about the context in which your proposal might be used by the readers. I would like you to choose a specific reader, preferably someone who has the power to say ‘yes’ to your proposal. Name that person in the cover letter..
Introduction. In one paragraph, define the problem, stress its importance, and offer a brief description of the proposed solution (thesis statement).
Analysis. In 3-4 paragraphs, analyze the problem from different angles showing why the problem exists, why the problem originated, whether or not the problem has changed, and the effects the problem has on a specific population.
Plan. In 4-5 paragraphs, offer a step-by-step description of how to solve the problem. This section should be more than your opinion.
Cost-benefit analysis. In 2-3 paragraphs, explain how the benefits of the plan outweigh its costs as well as the feasibility of the proposed course of action.
Conclusion. 1-2 paragraphs look into the future or address the implications of action (if the proposal is implemented) or lack of thereof (if it is not implemented).
*Workscited page
Other Requirements:
Don’t select non-academic sources such as blogs or wiki entries.
Avoid academic documents that are not manageable for you to read.
You can choose up to 3 popular sources (such as magazine articles or websites). At least 2 of the sources you consult have to be academic research articles.
Page length is not cumulative.
Please do not use more than 10 sources.
Do not just copy and paste sections from previous papers, including your interview assignment and plan.
Do not rely too heavily on quotes. If every time you refer to a source, you quote, you are overusing them.
Suggestions:
Do not rely solely on your opinion about the topic. The success of this paper depends on your ability to consult research and craft an argument.
Be specific. One of the biggest challenges with a proposal is making it about a generic reader who “should do something about X.”
Examine the feasibility of your plan. A proposal that cannot be implemented is not a good proposal.
Audience: for this paper your audience will be somebody who might not agree with you that the problem you identify exists, might be skeptical about your solutions, and who has not read any of the sources you consulted.
Overall Length: 1,750-2500 words (*7-10 pages without the cover letter and the works cited page). Remember that drafts should be at least half of the total length requirement.
add the total word count at the end, but do not include the cover letter and works cited page in this word count.

This is a person I interviewed, can you tweek it to make it better?

interview with my Aunt Meisa Bates. Meisa works at a hospital in
Marietta, GA as a senior customer service representative. I thought it would be a great idea
interview her considering her son, Aaron was involved in a racial profiling case in August 2013.
He was framed by a white officer and sent to jail for a drug possession that never existed. March
27, 2016, I conducted my interview in the living room with Mrs. Bates.
When the interview commenced, I proceeded to ask my first question asking what her
views of racial profiling were. She began to tell me that she thinks racial profiling is the largest
epidemic in the United States right now. Mrs. Bates thinks that it is definitely something that has
been a problem since the beginning of time. “It is ridiculous that one is judged by skin color, not
by their character, morals or values. Color should not define who you are as a person, and the
injustice that is caused by this is unacceptable and has to come to an end” she said. I could tell by
her voice being shaky that this topic was very sensitive to her.
I then asked her about the arrest of her son: “When your son, Aaron, was arrested, how
did it make you feel?” She answered, “At the time I was in complete shock because I knew that
he wouldn’t do anything like that, for he was on the correct path to success . He was arrested five
years prior to this incident, so the officer assumed that he was a criminal due to his record. After
that incident, he maintained a low profile and began to do well in his life. So therefore, I was
filled with anger and confusion because I knew for a fact that there were no drugs in his
possession and that he was basically framed. There was no justice until me, as his mother, put in
the work to get to the bottom of it.” If it wasn’t for my Aunt, my cousin still would have
probably been locked away in a cell. It’s sad that she had to take action for there to be any justice
for him.
Lastly I wanted to hear her opinion about racial profiling being so common in this day
and age by asking, “How do you feel knowing that this situation could happen again at any
time?” She replied, “This will definitely continue to happen until we, as African Americans, take
a stance and unite to bring awareness to this very dangerous situation. Racial profiling is
something that happens on a day to day basis, almost as if it is okay. It is sickening to me that
people die every day due to this, especially our African American men. Something must be
done.” She makes it clear that some action needs to be done. This is no game this is serious and
very unfair to certain races.
In conclusion, this interview opened my eyes more to racial profiling being that this
situation happened to my cousin, it really hit home for me. I learned that this is a very serious
issue in the United States, and it is not to be taken as a joke. I wanted to get a clear understanding
of a mother’s perspective to add pathos to my main paper. Meisa saying she was heartbroken
about the situation could definitely add some sympathy into my paper
