My PICO question is In immobilized patient who is at risk for developing venous thromboembolism, how does pharmacological prophylaxis (antiplatelet agents) compared to mechanical prophylaxis (intermittent compression devices) affect the development of venous thromboembolism within 1 week of treatment?
