Post contains two assignments

1:Design an interactive system for users. This system can be anything user-centered.

Description: In groups of two to three students, design an interactive interface like an e-commerce website, a news site for users with quadriplegia that use an eye tracker, an interface for controlling a drone using a BCI, etc.

Each groupmustcome up with a distinct project.

Phase I

A- Requirements Specifications Report____ (50 pts)
Create a report formatted to standards (5 pts)that includes the following:

1. Functional Requirements:
a. Describe the website or app fully (150-300 words). (10 pts)
b. Then create an HTA diagram. (20 pts)

2. User requirements: (10 pts)
Describe who are the target audience.
Their characteristics (e.g.: their abilities)
and system use (e.g.: novice, frequent, etc…)
and how will that affect the design

3. Alternative designs (5 pts)
Research websites or apps offering similar services.
List 2 URL and choose one of the websites or app and write two things your website (or app) is doing differently.

B- LOFI (Paper and movie) (50 pts)
Build a prototype.

1. Create a paper prototype that includes the following(35 pts):
a. Number of pages: 8 to 15 pages (3 pts)
b. Every page is hand drawn (some printing is acceptable) (2 pts)
c. Clear navigation (10 pts)
d. Quality of content (including other elements and images) (10 pts)
e. Completeness (5 pts): Pages used give us a complete idea of the website.
Wise use of horizontal and vertical compromises.
f. Creativity (5 pts)

2. Create a movie of the paper prototype (15 pts):
a. The movie needs to be 1 to 2 minutes long (2 pts)
b. Movie’s quality and creativity (sound, effects) (8 pts)
c. Narration is clear and complete (5 pts)

3.Submit the report and your movie or the link to your movie.

Phase II

A. Evaluating the Lofi design
1. Discuss with your team how the paper prototype you have made in Phase 1 should be evaluated. Explain the importance of the method(s) you are using.

2. Create anappropriate evaluation document (questionnaire, interview, etc.)
a. The evaluation should be based on design and usability criteria.
b. For questionnairesuse likert-scale.
c. For semi-structured interviews you should transcribe everything on paper verbatim and provide the transcripts.
d. More than one method may be used if necessary.
e. Ethics forms and information sheets should be attached.

3. Carry out the evaluation with other in-class students and document their feedback.

B. Report________________________________________________ (35 pts)
Create a small report containing:
1. Summary of findings.
2. Analysis of the results and its impact to your project.
a. List of changes based on evaluation.
b. Justifications why certain recommendations have not been implemented (if any).
c. Graphs and other descriptive methods to summarise your results.
3. You should include:
a. Your blank evaluation forms/documents
b. Thecompleted evaluation forms/documents.
c. The signed ethics forms
C. HiFi Prototype__________________________________________(50 pts)
Create a hifi mockup simulating the website using any software that you like. The hifi should include the changes mentioned in the report
Make sure it satisfies the following requirements:
a. Consistency with lofi prototype
b. Incorporating feedback from lofi prototype
c. Completeness (all screens exist)
d. Some functionality and interactivity (i.e., buttons let you navigate from one screen to another)
e. Ambition

D. Presentation____________________________________________(15 pts)
Present the final prototype and successfully ‘defend’ your work during a viva-vocethat will examine you how you applied what you learned in class to your prototype (interaction design principles, cognition, evaluation, etc.)
