Introduction
All students in the SBA program must complete a Capstone Proposal which will serve as a foundation for the Capstone Research Paper.
Before beginning work on the Capstone Proposal, consider these key points about the nature, scope and content of the Capstone Research Paper, as they will be reflected in your Proposal:
The Capstone Research is a culmination of the PL-interdisciplinary competency studies, and should concentrate on a central theme that implements the business processes and concepts found in the 15 competencies.
The theme should incorporate key concepts to demonstrate multidisciplinary understanding of topics.
The scope of the Capstone Research Paper should address workplace implementation whenever possible and a good working familiarity of the business theory, literature, best practices.
The Capstone Research Paper must contain evidence of scholarly and professional analysis supported by the appropriate application of analytical methodologies. Its scope and depth must reflect work of a higher standard than that of a term paper.
The detailed requirements for your Capstone Research Paper should be determined in collaboration with your supervising Faculty Mentor and can take a wide range of forms, such as:
a traditional academic research thesis
a policy paper (for a variety of business related topics in a real workplace situation)
an operational plan, (for development, in business, government, or international organization)
a critical analysis of a case study or an applicable workplace place situation
a unique business plan that promotes innovation and change in a specific industry and sector
Other: an independent project that has been discussed with and approved by your Faculty Mentor.
As always, weekly consultation with your Faculty Mentor is recommended to review any aspect of your proposal and progress.

Describe the business-related topic, problem or context of the question to be addressed by your research study.
Identify and describe the key problem(s), including strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats, if applicable.
Analysis and Rationale: Depending on your topic, the need/problem/question you have selected:
What are your objectives for this research?
What resolutions, responses will you be looking for or hypothesize?
What deliverable (s) will result from your capstone research?
Conclusion: Provide a summary of your anticipated findings.
Construct your Proposal using APAnarrative style.
Step 2: Write the first draft of your Capstone Research Proposal and consult with your Faculty Mentor for feedback.
Making sure to include each of the components outlined in Step 1 above, compose a first draft of your Capstone Research Proposal. Consult with your Mentor to obtain feedback and make changes as recommended. Several iterations of your proposal might be necessary in order to get to the final version. Step 3: Compose the final version of your Capstone Research Proposal. Incorporate suggestions from consultations with your Faculty Mentor and compose the final version of your Internship Project Proposal. Be sure to followAPA-style format, as well as polishing, proofreading, and editing as needed. Step 4: Save and submit your Capstone Research Proposal.
