Families are part of the development of your Anti-Bias community. They can support the work you do in the classroom, by also using the same language at home. Think about and answer the following questions and how you might involve your families in developing your ABC.
Challenge Question: To what degree did you see your family reflected in the books and other classroom materials in your school while you were growing up? How did that make you feel?
The challenge question assigned to support self-reflection based on reading assignments. After completing the assigned reading, answer the question based on information gathered from your reading. Answer to challenge question should be well developed. See the rubric I uploaded. Please follow instruction carefully.

• Tell me about your child (termperament, personality, interests, abilities).
• What are your child’s favorite toys or activities?
• Are there any activities your child avoids?
• Describe your child’s sleeping schedule.
• Describe your child’s eating patterns; what are his or her favorite foods?
• What languages does your child speak at home? What languages does your child hear at home?
• What cultural and religious holidays, celebration or traditions, do you practice at home? Are
there any that you would be willing to share with us at school?
• What are your expectations for your child?
• What are your aspirations, dreams and hopes for your child?
• Is there anything else you would like us to know about your child or family (traditions, cultural
background, race, religion, home language, culture, and family structure)?
