Illustrations or figures should be used if they enhance your topic. These are appropriate if they better explain the content in the body of the paper. Don’t use them if you just want to “pretty up” the paper. Likewise with tables. If you have a large amount of data, numbers, indications or contraindications a table would best suit your need. For an illustration or table use the following format (under the figure or table):
Figure (#). Explanation of the figure and identify where you obtained the figure.
Table (#). Explain the table. Identify any abbreviations used in the table.
A position paper states your position on a topic. As an example, HFOV is better at treating patients suffering from swine flu than other ventilator modes. This position then drives the rest of your paper.
2: Science Versus Creationism
Order Description
: “Science Versus Creationism”, “To Vaccinate or Not”, “Is either Political Party on Our Side?”, “Should Recreational Marijuana Use Be Legalized?”, “Is the Future Bright or Dim?”, “Is a College Education Worth It?”, “Should Nurses/Teachers Be Paid More?”, “Logical Fallacies in the Media”, “Arguments Surrounding American Sports”, etc. Students are encouraged to speak with the instructor about a particular topic that interests them before developing a proposal. Browsing books in EC’s library that highlight one’s interests may help inspire a specific topic selection.
Research for this paper will include general academic research into peer-reviewed journals and/or texts that can be found online, at the library, or through the library’s website. Students are compelled to submit a quality research project that will be as “bias” free as possible (showing multiple sides of the story and using reason to arrive at the most logical conclusion). Each paper MUST use evidence as found in the primary and secondary sources. Students must plan on conducting a deep textual survey of the topic they plan on studying for this assignment (a review of Wikipedia and some general-interest websites will NOT suffice for this project- prove to the instructor that you know how to use the library). Websites used as sources for this assignment DO NOT COUNT towards the 5 source minimum. EC’s library website academic sources (primary source material, academic journals, eBooks, and e-newspapers) count against a student’s total and therefore should be properly listed in the body of the text and in the bibliography/works cited page. As an example of a compilation of sources, if a student uses 2 EC library books, 3 academic journals, 3 websites that highlight the topic, and 1 newspaper source from EC’s online library, they have 6 sources total that count for this assignment even though they have 9 total sources listed in the bibliography and body of writing. Web sources are a good place to start, but are unreliable sources for strong academic research (even research on the Internet’s impact on religion is well-documented in print and in academic journals). Each student can complete these assignments by using only resources found through EC’s library system.
Research Paper Guidelines (150 points): Students must submit their research paper of at least 1,500 words minimum (about 6-8 pages double-spaced although I count words not pages) illustrating each student’s comprehensive, survey of the topic(s) they chose. The majority of the first half of each student’s paper should convey anthropological, historical, sociological theoretical, gender, racial, and/or methodological foundations of the arguments as presented in at least 5 approved sources that correspond to the student’s topic(s). Please recall that non-EC library websites do NOT count towards the source total. Each source must be listed in an academic bibliographical style of your choice including APA, APSA, MLA, or Chicago (see samples here: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/section/2/ ). Students should expect to spend several hours studying textual and/or online sources. Any and all data students can find (in their own research or in others’ research) will contribute to a more comprehensive research paper. Papers submitted for this assignment under 1,500 words, missing a strong thesis and/or structural support/evidence in the paper, lacking 5 approved sources, containing spelling/grammatical/word choice errors, and/or lacking individual research contributions will not receive full points. Please review the grading rubric for grading standards..
Each student’s Research Paper should be composed of the following parts:
1- Introduction
2- Clear Thesis
3- Body of writing
4- Conclusions
3: Herrera current brand equity
