ELIZABETH RESPONSE.
Looking at strategic ways to impact Christianity for the future it is important that Christians look at evangelism, political action and social reforms; these are key areas of cultural influence.
Evangelism “in a nut shell is sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the lost” (Evangelism, 2017). The world today is about action; you can’t just talk the talk you must walk the walk. A strategy to increase the positive outcome of evangelism in the future will include building a relationship with another person, allowing them to see you live as you believe and being open to discussion.
Political action is a hot topic and is projected to be an area where Christians will be called to stand up and speak out. The Bible calls us to hold to the word of the Lord and to be in prayer for our leaders. “Rather than engage in the political process, Christians have a duty to elevate it. Like any other sin, we are called to stand above the partisan dissension and demonstrate a better way” (Roberts, 2017). That is not to say we should not vote; we should. What Christians need to abstain from is the divisiveness that comes from one party winning versus another, the name-calling, the fighting and the judgment. Christians need to model unity, coming together and the trust that no matter who holds office that God is in control.
Social reforms are an area where the Church was once a leader. Services such as food, shelter and clothing for the needy were once provided by churches but the need became so great that local, state and eventually federal agencies became involved. However, in the future, the Church must become a leader in putting actions to their beliefs and being the hands and feet of God. Social reform encompasses healing racial division as well; Psalm 89:14 states, “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; love and faithfulness go before you”(NIV). Christians need to be leading the healing of racial divisiveness in our country.
Until the works of Jesus are being done by his followers then Christianity and the Church will be under attack as being irrelevant, hypocritical and elitist. It is important that we allow our actions to speak to what we believe more than we utter scripture telling others how to live.

SWANZETTA ANSWER:
There have been several advances made in technology communications including printing press articles and in the Internet. These advances have sped up rapid and profound change in the future of Christianity. Devices such as Smartphones and the Internet has changed the “traditional” worship experience and now allows Christians to engage in virtual congregations from any geographic region, podcasts, and gain insight from pastors across the globe who post their sermons online. Although this innovative idea allows Christians to practice worshipping God in new ways, some religious leaders worry that Christians are being isolated and not fully engage with other worshippers and in their own religious experience (Fox, 2010). There may be times when we are not able to attend worship service and may have to stream our worship experience online, but we gain strength from one another when we come together to worship God and connect with each another. Hebrews 10:25 (ESV) states, “not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

Another driving force that will affect the future of Christianity is the growing trend of religious diversity. Diana Eck, author of A New Religious America: How a “Christian Country” Has Become the World’s Most Religiously Diverse Nation, concluded that by 2000, America had become the world’s most religiously diverse nation. She stated that this diversification was traced back to 1965 when Lyndon Johnson signed a new immigration act. As religious diversity continues to grow in the future, it will impact our communities, our organizations, our culture and Christianity. In 2001, the United States Postal Service issued a new greeting stamp which commemorated two important Muslim Festivals—Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha (Najduch, 2016). As religious diversity continues to grow, how will organizations respond to the religious needs of their diverse workforce?
