c. Relate theory to classroom practice (GTS 2.2, 2.3, 4.1)
d. Produce professional and academic writing which is cohesive and accurate

Assessment task: Analytical Report (1500 WORDS)
The task:
Write a response of 650-750 words on each.
In each answer, you must draw upon (a) the set textbook (Lightbown & Spada) and (b) at least 2 readings from the required weekly readings of the subject. You may use further references as well, but close and critical reading of (a) and (b) is essential.

1. How do different theories regard the importance of learner ?output? in the process of learning a second language?
2. Compare and contrast how different theories of language learning explain the kind of teacher input that contributes to second language development.
