1. Reaction Papers: Stanovich
A reaction paper will be assigned based on readings in the Stanovich text. These reaction papers are to be one page in length and no more than 1.5 pages (12-point font, double-spaced). The first half of this paper will be a brief summary of the major points covered in the chapter in your own words and the second half of the paper will be either (a) your personal reaction to one of the ideas in the chapter or (b) relating a personal experience to a topic of your choosing from the chapter. Below is a basic rubric that will be used for grading reaction papers.
Grading Rubric:
Summary of chapter = 2 points
Minor deductions:
-2 if wrong chapter
-1 if less than half of a page in length
Reaction = 3 points
Minor deductions
-1 if less than half of a page in length
-1 if no logical connection described between reaction and chapter
